Snippets from flying small airplanes in California

New Home

The Bonanza got a new home last week. We moved across the field into the north hangars at Sacramento Executive. Two benefits I’m looking forward to taking advantage of right away: (1) my partner brought the gas tug out of storage so no more pulling the airplane into it’s parking spot with pure manpower, and (2) we can now wash the airplane without feeling like we’re waisting time and money (the air in California is full of ash right now).

New Home

Longer term, it will be nice to have a place that’s well lit, has electrical power, and is out of the wind to work on the airplane. I’m also looking forward to setting up a bit of a home away from home (i.e. “man cave”). Though as much as I’d like to, I don’t realistically see myself spending afternoons just hanging out at the airport at this time.
